WORK WITH ME
What I can offer:
I am currently offering online appointments only
What I can offer:
Sometimes instead of psychological therapy, we just need a safe space to talk something through. Maybe you're arguing with your partner, losing your temper with your kids, struggling with something at work or even feeling irritable and you don't know why...I'll bring my experience of working as a clinical psychologist with families, adults and children across a range of issues to mull over it with you. In this one-off 50 minute session, you can bring an issue or questions and we'll think things over together.
This includes:
A 50 minute phone call or online session focused on a specific topic or question (to be agreed prior to the session)
Email feedback from me about possible next steps
This is for you if:
You have a specific problem or just a couple of questions
You are happy to talk on the phone or meet online
This is not for you if:
You are currently seeing another therapist or mental health professional
You have a number of concerns or more longstanding issues (in this case you may want to speak to your GP or discuss a therapy assessment)
Your mood is currently very unstable
If you would like to meet for psychological therapy on a regular basis, please make contact with me to arrange a therapy assessment. A session lasts 50 minutes and it can take around 3 assessment sessions to get to know you and gather information about what might be causing you difficulties at the moment. I will offer psychological consultation regarding the development and maintenance of your problems and provide advice regarding intervention options. Sometimes an assessment and gaining a joint understanding together can be enough, however often people would like to continue to attend sessions on a regular basis.
Therapy is an invaluable tool that can enhance your personal insight into your emotional experience and reaction tendencies, help you problem solve more effectively and enhance your resilience. In these sessions we collaborate, identifying problematic thinking styles and behaviour patterns that maintain distress. We work towards making meaningful, positive changes to your thought processes and coping behaviours using evidence based therapeutic techniques. Your progress is reviewed regularly in therapy and this will inform our work together, ensuring an effective approach that is compatible with your unique needs. I tend to see people for up to 20 sessions, depending on progress and need, but am happy to see you until you feel ready to end.
This is for you if:
You would like a safe space to explore your difficulties
You are able to commit to regular sessions at the same time each week ( I offer a limited number of 2-weekly slots)
This is not for you if:
You are currently seeing another therapist or mental health professional
You can't commit to regular sessions
You are feeling suicidal or at risk of harming yourself or someone else (if you can't keep yourself safe at the moment or are having thoughts of harming yourself or others, please seek urgent help from your GP or GP out of hours for a crisis referral or visit A&E
